About Satta Matka

Background

From cotton rates to an earthen pot

The game began in the 1950s as Ankada Jugar - figures gambling - built on cotton rates telegraphed to Bombay from the New York Cotton Exchange. Punters bet on the digits; the commodity was incidental.

When the exchange stopped transmitting those rates in 1961, bookmakers improvised: slips folded into an earthen pot, drawn at random. The pot was a matka, and the name stuck.

Kalyanji Bhagat began running Worli Matka in 1962; Ratan Khatri followed two years later. The markets carrying those names today - Kalyan chief among them - descend from that period.

By the 1980s the trade turned over enormous sums each month across Bombay's mill districts, before police pressure in the mid-nineties broke up the large operations.

How a result is produced

Each market runs twice daily. The open declares first, the close hours later; together they make the result. Three digits form each panel; the last digit of a panel's sum gives one half of the jodi.

234-96-150
234Open panel, first session.
96Jodi, from both panels.
150Close panel, later the same day.

2+3+4 = 9, 1+5+0 = 6, so the jodi reads 96 - arithmetic on the panels, not a separate draw. No regulator, no official source; every site, this one included, reports at second hand.

Questions

Plainly answered
Is Satta Matka legal in India?

No. It is a chance-based numbers game under the Public Gambling Act 1867 and state gambling laws, and never had the "game of skill" exemption. The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act 2025 removed that exemption for online real-money games generally. This site publishes results as information; it does not accept, place, process or facilitate any wager.

What is the difference between a panel and a jodi?

The panel (panna) is the three-digit figure drawn in a session. The jodi is the two-digit pair from the last digit of each panel's sum. The panels are the draw; the jodi is derived from them.

Why does a result show asterisks?

An asterisk marks a figure not declared yet. 234-9*-*** means the open is out but the close is not, so half the jodi is unknown until it lands.

Do numbers repeat in patterns?

No. Each draw is independent of every draw before it. A figure appearing often in one month says nothing about the next; the runs in any chart are the ordinary clustering random sequences produce. A chart records what happened, it does not indicate what will.

Is everything here free?

Yes - results, charts and timings are free to read, no login and no payment. There is nothing to buy and nothing to register for.

What is the 220 Patti (panna) record?

Every result panel is one of exactly 220 valid three-digit combinations - the non-decreasing digit triples from 000 to 999. Each panna's ank is the last digit of its digit sum, e.g. 128 → 1+2+8 = 11 → 1. Our 220 Patti page lists all of them grouped by ank. It is a fixed arithmetic reference, not a prediction of anything.

What does open-to-close mean?

A market runs two sessions in a day: the open declares first and the close later. "Open to close" simply refers to both figures of the same day's result together. Each is an independent draw; the earlier one tells you nothing about the later one.

Which market is the most popular?

Kalyan is the best-known, running Monday to Saturday with its open around 3:45 PM and close around 5:45 PM IST. Milan, Rajdhani, Time Bazar and Main Bazar are the other widely-followed markets. All timings are on the Timings page.

Do you sell tips, guessing numbers or a paid membership?

No. This site does not sell tips, "fix" jodis, memberships or any paid service, and it does not run a guessing forum. It publishes results, charts and timings as information only. Anyone promising a guaranteed number is selling you a random guess.

How often do the results update?

The board refreshes on its own and reflects each market the moment its result is entered for the day. Times shown are IST. If a figure isn't out yet it shows asterisks until it lands.

Satta Matka Guide

English & हिंदी

What is Satta Matka?

Satta Matka is a chance-based numbers game that grew up in Bombay in the 1960s. It began as betting on cotton rates telegraphed from the New York Cotton Exchange; when that feed stopped in 1961, organisers switched to drawing numbered slips from an earthen pot - a matka- and the name stuck. Today it survives as a set of “markets” that each declare numbers twice a day.

This site publishes those numbers as a public record. It is information only - there is nothing to bet, buy, or register for here.

How a result is formed

Each market runs an open session and, hours later, a close. Every session draws a three-digit panel(also called a panna or patti). The last digit of a panel’s digit-sum is its ank. The two anks - one from open, one from close - sit together as the two-digit jodi.

Example: open panel 128 → 1+2+8 = 11 → ank 1. Close panel 560 → 5+6+0 = 11 → ank 1. Full result: 128-11-560.

Every panel comes from a fixed set of 220 pattis - see the 220 Patti page for the complete list grouped by ank. A jodi is any pair from 00 to 99. None of it is predictable: each draw is independent of the last.

The main markets

Kalyan is the best-known, running Monday to Saturday with its open around 3:45 PM and close around 5:45 PM IST. Milan Day & Night, Rajdhani Day & Night, Time Bazar and Main Bazar are the other widely-followed markets, alongside the Bombay-region markets (Day Bombay, Night Bombay, Malamal Bombay, KBC Bombay) and dozens of morning and night bazars. Every open and close time is listed on the Timings page - all IST.

Charts and records

A chart is simply the history of a market’s past results laid out by day. Players read them to study how often figures have appeared, but a chart records what happened - it does not indicate what will. Each market’s monthly jodi/panel record is on its chart page.
